With deep gratitude, we honour Professor Heinz Prechtl and Christa Einspieler, whose pioneering work in General Movements reshaped early infant assessment worldwide. Their vision, compassion, and scientific brilliance continue to guide every baby we assess and every family we support.
Heinz F.R. Prechtl, a natural-born scientist and internationally known as the “father of developmental neurology was a pioneer in understanding the fetal, preterm, and neonatal behavior. A man of vision and with unequaled passion for interdisciplinary scientific endeavors once said “research may not be able to create complete happiness and satisfaction for man, but a better understanding of the underlying mechanisms of development is needed if we were to promote optimal environmental conditions and prevent the devastating influence of hazardous ones”
Christa Einspieler’s scientific journey and the impact of her academic dedication on our understanding of the origins and ontogeny of neurofunctions. Taking its cue from Konrad Lorenz’ behavioural physiology and Heinz Prechtl’s developmental neurology concept. She was among a handful of people selected by Prechtl who would later go on to form the General Movements Trust. Through the GM-Trust, Christa coordinated hundreds of GMA training courses around the world. She was a brilliant teacher and mentor, second to none in explaining the complex environment of fetal and infant development, the interplay between structure and function, or brain and behaviour, if you will. Science is not all about numbers, it is a story of life. Science is the reciprocity in development of structure and function, the give and take, tradition and innovation.
Gain practical knowledge on early detection, assessment, and intervention for age-appropriate infant development.
This Course is taught in two parts
In the 4 days training during the Basic Course clinicians receive a detailed insight of the Typical and Atypical movement patterns in infants .
At the end of the basic course one can very efficiently comment and document regarding the babies developmental trajectory.
A clear answer whether the development is NORMAL or no can be received through this assessment.
Clinicians who successfully complete the basic course with the passing score are eligible to attend the Advanced Course.
Advanced Course give you a detailed scoring about each movements pattern observed in the babies which helps in identifying the exact areas of delays in development and helps to develop the foundation of Early Intervention.
